I have a car seat mounted in the middle of the backseat for my 3 year old. She loves it with doors off. I do keep to 35 mph roads with her in and no doors. My wife is fine with it.

My kids listen extremely well, my wife is also extremely paranoid too, so for now I guess I'm rolling with no front doors with back doors on, it'll look a little goofy but it'll keep the wife happy, don't think it'll keep them any safer though

If you don't think doors make a difference, your fooling yourself. Wait till a Harley broad sides you and a fat biker flies through your back seat and takes your kids out the other side with him. IMO there is always higher risk when the doors are off. Drive carefully and defensively

ID:	478070Have a 6 and 10 yr old that endure no doors all summer long. The only issue is it can be chilly early morn or evening. I keep extra sweatshirts and blankets on hand.

The girl after a mud run. She's not normally that dirty.

Didn't really read everyone's reply cause I'm sure id end up arguing with those who are opposed. I have kids and have gone doorless many times. If your kids are pretty good about leaving seatbelts on, then I'd say go for it. If we don't trust our seatbelts then perhaps we shouldn't be driving (that's how I look at it) as I rely on my own seatbelt to reduce the chance of injury should anything happen. Now with that said.. I've recently invested in soft doors So that my 1yr olds sippy cup doesn't fall out should he drop it. Also come in handy for those days where u take a trip and return after dark and would rather keep them a little warmer

I do what boogiejones said and I take just the front doors off my JKU but I have a baby (1yrs) and I don't want her to be to expose to the sun wind and rain. My 5 year still sits in a booster too, when I have the front doors off I sometimes let her sit up front but only on trips to the grocery store 3 blocks away. It really doesn't look as dumb as you would think.

I agree. The front doors off only don't look bad at all. I don't have a choice with my rear doors, they stay on or I find a new family.

I have a 3 year old and 6 month old and both have went with doors off from the start. We have lost a toy or two but the older child was warned what would happen if she didn't hold on. She has learned how to hold on to things now. The baby is in the middle of the back seat and we have a cover that we found at target. It keeps the wind off with a screen and has a flap inside a pocket you take out that folds over to block the sun but he can still see out the sides with it over. We have been on the interstate with this and have no problems with it.

As for the motorcycle rider comment. All I have to say is yes things can happen. I could also have the doors and a hard top on and get creamed by an 18 wheeler and they aren't going to help much. That could happen in the worlds safest vehicle.

As for me and my family we choose to enjoy the Jeep how we want and others can do as they want. If you feel safer with the doors on, then keep them on. If you want them off, take them off. Do what makes you happy! God bless and keep the shinny side up!
