Default No Torx nuts at bottom of door hinge?

Dumb question alert...
Went to take the doors off and realized there were no nuts holding it on. Bought the Jeep used so I'm assuming previous owner forgot to put them back on and the dealership didn't replace and put some kind of adhesive on the bolts. Tried just lifting them off but they aren't budging. I'm hoping somebody has some advice on how to proceed, I don't want to ruin the doors or the hinges. Thanks!

Mine are very difficult to remove in the spring after a long winter. Just spray a lubricant in that area and wiggle while pulling up. Get a friend to help. Once they are off lubricate that pin and hinge and they will slide right off.

Or the threads got sheared off..I did it to mine a couple weeks ago. Luckily Quadratec sells replacement hinge pins and bolts so you done have to replace the whole hinge

As far as the door being stuck use some penetrating lube and swing the door while lifting up on it. I also find rolling the window down gives you some extra leverage

Yeah, I may be wrong but it looks like the bolt heads may have sheered off. Please to report back and let us know as this would be of concern. Apart from that, I do find some doors harder to remove than others and it seems that the nylon/plastic sleeves they put in them do fail and cause them to become stuck (at least that was the case with one of mine).

I took mine off... dont plan to put them back on either. all they are is a paint chip waiting to happen. the doors arent coming off unless someone is actively trying to take them off and if that someone is a thief, I have a zero deductible on comprehensive coverage. other than being a pain in the ass for door removal/installation I dont really see the poing of them....

also to the original post, I have had doors that were tougher to open, just took a little brute force and moving the door open and closed while lifting. I doubt the PO forgot to put them back on, he probably took them off and said good riddance. good luck getting them off, and whatever you do, do not try to take the hinges off the jeep itself or it will chip the paint on the hinges like crazy!

That is a possibility, but would all 12 heads be sheared off? That seems like something that might happen to one or two, tops.

If worst comes to worst, I've heard of people using a floor jack with a piece of 2x on top to force the pins loose from underneath. But you have to do that very carefully and preferably with a helper to keep the door (and therefore mirror) from swinging into your cowl panel.
