Noise when putting into reverse? Auto tran.
I have a 2008 auto. I notice recently when I go from neutral to reverse it is making a short grinding type noise. Any ideas? About 18,000 miles on the clock.

How loud is this noise?
It is normal for this type of tranny to make noise shifting into reverse. Mine has done it since it was new and I have over 50K miles on mine. However you need to have the windows down or doors off to hear it.
