O2 Sensor Confusion - Right Bank/Left Bank blah blah
Surprisingly not a lot of info out there on JK O2 sensor work. I'm throwing PO153 - O2 Sensor 2/1 Slow Response. Jeep has 108k on it.
Research (I think) shows Bank 2=Drivers side Position 1= Before Cat.
Problem: Finding the correct O2 sensors without going to the dealer!
Can anyone confirm the following?
Rear (after cat) sensors are the SAME (Mopar #56029049AA)
Front (before cat) sensors are the SAME (Mopar #56029084AA)

Your positions are correct. I replaced sensors going with Amazon's fit but you're right that there is confusion on the part numbers. It looks like the fronts are different but you'd think they'd be the same.

I had this same problem trying to figure out which side was Bank1 vs Bank 2. This image helped.
Edit: Image re-uploaded with the proper piston/firing order. Thanks! Ronjenx!

You are correct. I am going to the dealership tomorrow to be sure that this is the true problem. I have read where a lot of people have replaced all 4 O2 sensors and it hasn't fixed the problem. Jeep started throwing this code the second day i have had it and keeps coming back for two weeks.

What are the best, most durable and reliable O2 sensors? Both upstream and downstream.
Everyone seems to like the OEM Mopar, though I am surprised how expensive they are relative to others, and VERY disappointed with how quickly they failed on my 2007 JK (only 120K miles, but frankly maybe that was the dealer's doing after they popped the cats in and out at least 5 times and possibly damaged them along the way, just to do various work in the engine, all under the so-called "limited lifetime warranty" Jeep offered when I bought it, which covers all but O2s/Cat/Electricals/Fuel systems, meaning most of the complexity involved in P0420/P0430 hell being left to us), while my other *EXACT SAME* 3.8L V6, but different car, has over 230K miles and counting with 2005 Mopar O2s all going fine).
I hear good things about NTK's and they are well priced against the Mopar O2s. I see mixed messages about Bosch (both very positive and very negative, while I'm surprised how much cheaper they are, even than then NTK's, but warrantied for much less mileage).
I'm particularly curious about Crown, they seem like a solid brand in various things, but how do Crown O2's compare other decent brands. And how happy are JK owners with aftermarket O2s in general.
Thanks,
M
