OBD-II Scanner
Does anybody recommend any affordable OBD-II scanners that can read the readiness monitors live?
I've always borrowed my friend Blue Point scanner but it's time to get my own.
It's a huge help when it comes to passing emissions.
Thanks in advance!

Can't answer you question completely, but have you looked into the devices that plug into obd port and communicate to an app on your phone or tablet? They are really inexpensive. Like under $20. I have one but do not recall all the info it gives.
I also have a scanner from Innova that is about $150. It gives live data and also shows abs codes.

Harbor freight sells a 50 dollar deal and a superchips can do the same minus the abs usually. What you're talking about sounds like a step above the normal everyday diagnostic tool.

Do you need more in depth info than this? What in particular are you looking to live monitor? The cheap scanners are 'good' but they won't touch a snapon/ blue point tool.

The Bluetooth piece was $4 and the Torque Pro app was $3.

I have ELM 327 dongle with Dashcommand app. I think iPhone needs wifi dongle while droid can use Bluetooth or wifi. Only problem with my single is that it's too long. (Haha). I wish I had the shorter one due to knee hitting it when I use the clutch.

It's just a generic Bluetooth obd2 connector like the one linked below. They can be had for as cheap as $3 but I may have splurged and paid $6 to have it delivered from an American address. I'm using an Android so I went with the Torque app and this Bluetooth adapter. They claim you can use the dongle with the computer too but I just keep an antiquated phone in the vehicle with the adapter.
