Default oem soft top?

Local guy has a 2008 for sale. Never installed. Have these changed any since then? I can get for around 650. Worth it for my 2011? Correct fit?

Thanks!

You could get a brand new Trektop for the same price. Just letting you know. I think I sold my 2012 soft top for $400. If you buy his I would definitely try to talk him down on price.

That price seems pretty high. If you can talk him down I would definitely try too. Like Mr. Ed had said, you can get a brand new Trektop NX for around that price. You'll want to make sure that you have all the hardware, brackets and door surrounds. As long as you have all that hardware it'll fit on your Jeep.

Hope this helps! Feel free to shoot me a PM if you have any questions.

I just got one in great shape that came off a 2007 for $300. So $650 is pretty high. In 2010 they redesigned the top making it much more desirable than the previous years. That's why the older ones are usually so cheap. But hell, even a 2010 soft top only goes for around $500+.

I got one brand new 2010 model for $500 on eBay and shipping was $100. $650 sounds a little high to me as well

Thanks guys. This is great info. Does the trektop have a similar "sunrider" option?

One more question. What's the difference between the regular trektop and trektop nx?

Yes, you can flip back the front similar to the OEM soft top / sun rider. The NX comes as a new design that improves resistance to weather. Original TrekTop would gather water and leak. Other than a couple new design features, the main difference is that it comes with two cross bars over the front and back rows to help bow the top and run water off. Also works as a great bikini top.

Soft top prices could really depend where you live and what season it is. I got a good deal on my '07's top back in '08 -- but lately I've seen new unopened take-off's going for $1000 around here. Cheapest nice ones go for about $600. I've seen well used ones in the $200-300 range.

The '08 soft top is likely still in the range where they built them with the plastic headers which are prone to warping. A new steel header will run ~$120 online shipped.

I'm not familiar with compatibility, or the newer updated 2nd-generation factory soft tops.
