Default OIL question

I know this is a redundant thread, but I would like to know what weight oil most people are running in their rigs? I am ready to do my first oil change on a 2011, and it seems there are as many opinions on this as their are on what bumper to buy. It would seem this should be more cut and dried, and I appreciate any input you care to give.

Mobil 1 5w30, Mobil 1 EP filter. Change oil every 5k.

Approaching 20k & my Jeep doesn't use a drop of oil & runs like a top.

I'm using 5W-20 in my 2010 Wrangler, that's what the owners manual specifies; plus, I don't want to void my warranty.
I'm being conservative and changing every 3,000 miles with full synthetic (Valvoline).

Mobil 1 5W-20, Fram Tough Guard TG3614 filter, change every 5000 miles. First change was made at 1150 miles. Now at 20,000+ and have yet to see any oil loss on the dip stick between changes. Never had a dry start with the Fram, I did have a couple with the original Mopar filter. Just my

Just did mine today - Mobil1 5w20 and a Fram Toughgard 3600

The 3600 is a larger (longer) version of the 3614 (stock)

5w20 as the owners manual says.
DO NOT use a fram oil filter. I have a diesel truck and there are many studies on the diesel fourms how fram is the worse filter made. Buy wix, mobil 1, amsoil, mopar, napa......

10W30 Pennzoil dyno. EXCELLENT STUFF. I have over 980,000 miles on my personal vehicles in a bit over 20 years. NO ENGINE REPAIRS on ANY of them. NONE. NO oil added on ANY of them. NONE. I use only FRAM filters, the CHEAPIES. NO dry starts. The forums love to BASH Fram filters, in my REALWORLD EXPERIENCE the Fram bashing is bull. They are excellent filters. If the oil you purchase has the API ''approved for gas engines'' logo on it the the minimum warranty standards are met. I personally feel that the 0W30 5W30 oils are not enough for an engine pulling a 4200+ pound vehicle. I'm very old-fashioned in that way- just like there's no substitute for cubic inches I feel there is no substitute for FILM THICKNESS in oil flow on internal parts. One of the benefits of being 60 is having my opinions,LOL that no amount of debate can sway....being serious again all these statements are true. On my last Jeep alone I used 65 Fram filters, not even one bad one, not even one dry start. Changed every 3000 miles. By the way I don't abuse my vehicles, but I DRIVE them.Best of Luck!!!
