Default opinions please

I'm looking for new tires and after some research and comparing tires I think I've settled on firestone Destination M/T's (285/70/17). I do have have to contend with snow and ice for 50% of the year and these seem to be the best. If anyone has any experience with these please let me know. Will I require spacers to run these tires on my stock 17's?

I can't answer your question about the spacers, but you might try going to tirerack.com to check out customer reviews on that tire. I have had awesome luck with Bridgestone Dueler A/T REVO tires. They look good and get great reviews on the tire rack web site.

I don't buy my tires from tire rack because of the shipping involved. The local Firestone dealer will match their price anyways. I just use it for reviews. If you already use the tirerack site, then my help is a complete waste of time for you.
