Default Overdrive button sticking...

I did a search and didnt see anything about this....

My O/D button is sticking......

I push it, and then have to get my knife and wedge it beside the button to get it to come back up and turn the O/D off.

I am sure it is from dirt/sand/mud but would like to try and fix it than keep using my knife all the time.....

Anyone run across this?
Also how hard is it to take the button out to check/clean it? I assume it involves taking the center console apart, but how much?

Thanks

No one? I guess this is a new thing, I will see if I can figure it out...
If not hopefully warranty will cover it...

Mine was sticking due to a significant amount of sand on and in EVERYTHING.
It eventually worked its way back to normal function, however.
(and I'm still finding sand in strange places)

I imagine a can of spray computer cleaner would likely help. But I have not tried.
That is a good idea, I will try that....

Most likely, if not sticking from debris, it is hitting the console. You could try to adjust the console. Maybe just a good shove would do it. Otherwise, I would loosen the console and file out the opening for the OD button.

I use mine daily and so far (knocking on wood) no issues. I have also wheeled in sand and have it in all the little corners of the interior. From the way some people complain about the auto and the 3.8L, maybe you're better off with it stuck in the off position

That's annoying. Mine doesn't stick, but the paint is wearing off it from constant use since getting my 35's put on. The "d" is pretty much gone.

Yea I wish it would stick in the "off" position, but when I turn off the Jeep it resets....

Shouldn't spilled that Pepsi down there. You can pick up a spray can of electronics cleaner at NAPA. That oughta take care of it.
