Default passenger airbag cover replacement..

So my jeep got robbed this past friday. Among other things, the theives put a huge dent in my passenger side airbag cover.

From what i've been told I can't just take off the cover.. I have to take out the whole airbag along with it (which includes unconnecting the battery etc.)

Has anyone done this before? Is it simple?

I'm not sure if I want to mess around with the airbag and stuff, I'm thinking about maybe leaving it to the proffesionals...

Any opinions on this?

I did it in about 20 minutes,...I will try to post some more photos later.

The airbag is not a huge deal, just make sure the batt is disconnected for a few minutes and don't drop the thing. there is only 2 wires that connect to it.

Wouldn't this be covered by insurance? If it is, have a body shop fix it.

it would be if my deductable wasn't so high... I'm lowering it now because of this. Did I mention they slashed my soft top, broke center console, AND broke my glove box...

HUGE THANKS to matt08jk. Thanks for helping out a fellow jeeper.

Default Not to get too metaphysical on you...

but you really have to feel sorry for someone who's life has left them so desperate that they would risk their eternal salvation, their karma, their atman, or simply their piece of mind, for a few dollars at a pawn shop...

now, I'm not a pacifist (and would gladly teach a memorable physical lesson to anyone I caught breaking into my jeep), but just keep in mind that one way or another they will get theirs in both this life and the next (if it exists).

wishing you a prosperous 2010!
