Bought my 2011 JK in July of 17..it had 12,500 miles. Its now one year later and it has over 31 000. It has every option. The soft top was still wrapped from the factory.
I instantly got buyers remorse. The ride was jittery and not the most powerful engine. I have been a salesman and drove a lot of miles so i had smooth rides and powerful engines. I didn't realize what i was getting. Then i got on these boards and read how bad the 3.8 was...i was doomed.. my buyers remorse lasted a long time. But then one day i started liking my Sahara. But i was still going to sell it. But then spring came and now i am in love with this Jeep.
oh yeah sorry..the 3.8 motor.
it seems to have more power than before?
burns no oil
and living in the flat lands of Indiana I have to day i have absolutely no problems.
I'm not married and have no kids and I'm in my mid 60's..I probably will sell it this winter because if i still have it in the spring the top will come of and I'll never get rid of it.

I'm up to 114,000, still runs perfect. Has started to consume oil..about 2 quarts over a 5000 mile OCI. Power steering pump has developed a leak and is getting replaced soon. Nothing else to report.

I recently traded my 2007 JKU Rubicon in with 211,000 miles. It was running good but had a small oil leak. Dealing gave me $10,000 for it towards a 2016 Willys JK

Just traded my 09 JKUR it had 187,000 on it last week for a 2018 JKU Recon. Dealer gave me $13,000 towards it. Last fall I had a lower intake gasket, and then Bank2 cat go. Change oil religiously every 4,000 miles using Mobil 1.

2008 3.8 here with just over 150k. I replaced the coil pack a few months ago, that’s all I’ve done other than regular maintanance. Running rotella t6 5w40 synthetic, no leaks or burning, also quited down my valve noise as well.

What's the deal with replacing the coil pack and was there any difference afterwards? I'm at 185k so the pack probably should be on my list but it seems to work just fine. I've also got to replace plug wires soon.

Just keep it! Nothing wrong with the 3.8. Mine is soldiering along reliably at 125k. It is smooth and runs like new. It quit using oil, too, which is odd, but I'll take it. Just enjoy it. Yours is still a baby. Heck, it sounds like it is barely broken-in!

I currently have 154K on my 2009.
- Still runs great
- Has never left me stranded or needed to be towed
- Doesn't burn oil between change intervals (3-4Kmiles)

Common Repairs/replacements performed
- Lower Intake Manifold gasket
- EGR Valve
- Radiator
- Heater Core
- Post Catalytic O2 sensors
- Battery x2
Regular maintenance items changed at/after 100K miles but were still ok at the time.
- Plugs/wires
- Serpentine belt
- Upper intake manifold gaskets (did those while doing the lower)
- Tranny Fluid

Common repairs/replacements still factory not performed
- Water pump
- Thermostat
- Valve Cover gaskets
- Exhaust/headers
- Oil pan gasket
- Pre Cat O2 sensors
- PCV Valve (Have a new one, just waiting for me to put it in).
- Cat converters

I'm actually surprised about the exhaust. Most every vehicle I've owned has needed part of the exhaust replaced after 70K miles living in the rust belt.
