First off let me say that I am not tying to defend the dealership. That said it may have taken 2 days the first time because they may not have actually had the part. Yes you can ask to see the part however, you will not be able to keep the part because it is being done under warranty. If they try to tell you that anything is normal again and you don't think it is, tell them to prove it by comparing whatever your vehicle is doing to a like vehicle. In this case it is making a noise that you can hear from 25 feet away and they say its normal, then have them start up another LIKE vehicle and see if it does do it. If it doesn't then have them explain why yours does make noise and this one doesn't.

I would Take it to another dealer, there's no way they can have a transmission and transfer case pulled out and put back in in an hour.

In order to replace the throwout bearing you must remove both driveshafts,the starter, the transfer case, and the transmission including many other small parts. To do this and reinstall in one hour would be impressive to say the least. Ask if you can watch from the sidelines to see if all of this is really done. Maybe they employ a Nascar pit crew...

well, even if you ask to see the replaced part, not sure if you could. Because actually, when a part is covered by warranty, they need to claim it to chrysler for a pay back. When I say claim, it does mean they need to send the part to chrysler in order to get money back.

Although, they could show you the said part, and then put it on the claims pile.

not sayin this is the cAse here but youd be amazed how fast some techs can work . i firsthand saw one replace a front pump in my wifes caravan in just a couple of hours . there are some bad apples but , an hour doesnt sound completely out of line for someone that does it everyday

I'm know some work faster than others and replacing a throwout bearing is a 4.5 hour job or atleast that's how many hours they should charge you for labor but 1 hour still seems a little too fast to me

it is very fast ,there were many jobs where i used to do it in less than half the time . i could replace a clutch in a 9200 international in 4 hours and book time was almost double that . but havin the right tools and having learned shortcuts makes all the difference

Wish the shop that did my throwout bearing was that fast, took them a few days but I cant complain cays they did it for $200

they probably let it sit until part cAme in and they could get to it , i know a chrysler tech ill ask him if he believes one hour or not

just called him and he said he can do one in an hour . also said ditto on the front pump i talked about earlier , in fact he said hes done those in just over an hour . so the guy i was bragging about was actually slow
