Default Putting up Soft Top?

I put up my new 2009 wrangler soft top and noticed I can't seem to get the little hook flap over the doors (2doors) to latch very well. Do these interlock like the flaps under the rear windows? Thanks! P.S. I am new to having a jeep.

It sounds like you understand the one I am talking about (the camera is at work, otherwise I would take a pic.) I can curl the flap up into the crevice, but it does not really hook in there and stay like it does under the back side windows. Everything else seems to line up and hook right.

Are you latching the front hinges onto the latches on the windshield before trying to tuck the sides under? That may help with getting them in there. They're supposed to be a little tough to push up into the seats. Also make sure you start at the part closest to the front of the Jeep and work your way towards the rear, on each side.

I find those vertical retainers are best when you only zip up about 2 inches at the top, then tuck an inch or two of the bottom (can still slide freely) then tuck in the door side. Then tuck in bottom channel retainer and do zipper fully last.

If it's tight get out in some sunshine and warmth to loosen the fabric a bit.

Cheers.

I do latch the top to the windshield first. It is not that I cannot get the flap tucked under, its that it does not stay, it just kinda rests overlapping the edge. I will try to get pics to explain better.

the last thing i do is latch the top fully. start the window zipper for about an inch or so. then put in the vertical door strips thingy (lol) then attach bottom of window along tub. zip window in rest of way. pull window fore and aft if needed. it shoul dmove a little to allow adjustment.

I had the same problem above the door, turns out there is two flaps up there and I was trying to tuck in the outer one in the door frame. About a month later after giving up I found the inner flap that tucked in nicely.

Hmm, I need to take a closer look. I have had the top down all week because the weather has been good all week up her in Minnesota. I will look tomorrow.
