Hi all i have an '08 X with the squealing clutch problem which from what i have read in the TSB's is the pre load on throw out bearing. Well i picked mine up from the dealer today for part one of the repairs i needed which was leaks in the soft top. They ordered the parts for the clutch problem but the TSB they list on the repair order is for the squeak not the squeal which i have.My problem has the exact symptoms that the squeal TSB outlines only noise when clutch out touch the pedal goes away now they only ordered the clutch disc which is the squeak which i don't have. My question is when i call them tomm to tell them this what ground do i have to stand on can i demand they do the TSB that i believe it is or do i just have to take what they say it is and have to go back numerous times? the thing only has 600 miles on it and was built sept '07 according to my build sheet the dealer paid for my rental car also.

 

well i talked to the owner of the dealership today he said they do all the tsb's threw the vin mine isn't showing the throwout bearing problem just the disk problem he says he is calling the tech center Monday to see if they are going to roll this problem into the '08's my build date is 9/07 so i gather i got a leftover 07 bad throwout bearing he agreed guess i will find out Monday atleast i will probably end up wit ha disk with 0 miles on it instead of the one that came with it that 101 when i bought it one bright spot i guess what the solution is on another note anyone with an '08 that has the squealing throwout bearing please tell your dealer that is the problem to try to get DC to remedy this with the two .50 cent washers that they use to fix it
