I stand by my opinion. Like I said, it's what I would do. Grinding reverse to a stall is bound to liberate some chunks.

prob not necessary to change it every time u grind a gear, but it wouldn't hurt anything if he changed it. it'd be a great time to upgrade to a nice synthetic or something

Hey don't they put magnets in the bottom of transmissions two catch metal pieces? i know my 88 Cherokee had them.

You don't need to call me out. I didn't quote you when I said that he didn't need to.

I stand by my opinion. Wouldn't hurt to change it, never hurts to change and fluid early. Not necessary though.

no kidding, As much as the the tranny was grinding in the JK before the wreck, I would have changed it every week..

It's really no big deal. I busted a fluid line and had to make it home without a clutch (you have to slow down before red lights or stop on a slope (only took six stops)) once I roll started the JK, I could rev up to about 2500 rpms and shift to the next gear without grinding (couldn't push the clutch because I didn't have one). Learned that from a clutch problem with a former mustang.
