Quick coolant question
My coolant is low so I got some more from my dealer. I have a 09 jk and know I need the HOAT stuff. This is what they gave me and when I asked if this was the right stuff he said ehhh yeah. Well knowing they don't always know what's what I wanted to check. So is the right coolant or no. Thanks
The original coolant part number was 05066386AA.
It has been superseded with 68048953AB, which is the jug you show.
According to 2 dealers I called, you can put the new part numbered coolant in with the old part numbered coolant. It's the same stuff; HOAT.
For those who want the 50/50 premix HOAT for a quick top-up, it's part number 68051212AB

The embittered type has a bitter taste to try and prevent kids and animals from getting poisoned. There is a recent LONG thread on HOAT vs OAT. If you need any more info, let me know and I'll try and find it for you.

One clue, for the mopar coolant jugs, is that the HOAT is 5yr/100,000 mile. The OAT is 10yr/150,000 mile.
Edit: which I now realize will add confusion as that Canadian jug is 5yr/250,000km (or 150,000 miles)

250000 km is 155000 mi antifreeze. The HOAT is 100k mile 5 year antifreeze. OAT is 150,000 mi 10 year antifreeze. If that is true and there is no US to Canada difference in change frequency, you have a photo of OAT
