Rack system
So I have been using the Yakima 1a raingutter system for my snowboards and that works pretty well. But I'm finding that that is all is works for as it can't hold much weight attached to the rain gutters
I'm looking to be able to take cargo racks, paddle boards, bikes and would consider a pop up tent on the roof. I'm imagining this would take a large cage type rack system that attaches to the frame. So I have a few questions of this is the case. Would I be able to attach lights above my windshield and the rack, or would I attach the overhead lights to the rack? Also, in taking off the hard top, are there any hoist systems that would still work with this get up? I imagine it would be tough with a cage rack. Thanks! |

I Have a Garvin Rack that works quite well for me and will hold most anything. Mine pivots back and up to remove the hard top/soft top. Garvin Industries Wilderness Racks

Check out the Rhino Rack Backbone or the teraflex Nebo.

Definitely take a look at the backbone system. I've had mine for almost two years and love it. Nothing changes with how you remove the top either which is great Attachment 673511
I opted for the three bar system, I have an extended Thule canyon basket which does the hauling and with that I'd still have room for stuff off to one side if I wanted to mount something up |

I've had the Teraflex Nebo on my JKU for nearly a year and I'be been happy with it. It seems to fit all your requirements.

In case you want more information on the Garvin rack I did a pretty in-depth review discussing its features and how it flips back for top removal.
