I have a build date of 11-01-2006 and since I have done all the flashes and the minor repairs to the hardtop seal, no more problems. I would do it again if I had to, every time the top goes down and I turn off the pavement into the woods it's all worth it!

I have a better idea gang...just wait to the very last year they are going to make this particular model and buy that one. Cause then any all things that we current owners address with dealerships etc can then be implemented into that last year.

By that time...probably what? 10-12 years from now. You will be set!

I read this forum and researched etc... and I still bought mine. You are buying a Jeep not a Viper.

Remember the throttle is (drive by wire or whatever its called its all electronic there is no actual cable) I am learning mine and I love it.

Note: i am being sarcastic about waiting...but we all know the next year is always supposed to be better then the previous year. It will always be like that. But one thing we current JK owners can say...we are enjoying our new Jeeps right now.

I find it cruises effortlessly and its EXTREMELY fun to drive.

Thats probably about right. I think that was about the time frame when I ordered vehicles for a GM dealership i used to work for. Every model is different.

the problem here is that your trying to buy your first jeep,,thats why you think all this things are real bad...well they are not.,
once you become a jeep person you will see that we

1. love water leaks
2. like bad paint
3. we have wires exposed and every were ofcourse temporary "for ever"
4. noise,,well you have to change the stock exhaust and put one that will sound good.
5.if anything else wroung,,its ok we will fix it,,,"but only same day we will sell the jeep"
6.pinstrips are cool but only when done with cactus or mesquites.
7.if there is a hole somewere,,,another reason to get a sticker
and i can go on and on...
so just go buy the jeep man...you will love it no matter what anyways..

I have a 2007 that I bought not long after the JK was released. I've got around 15-20k on it and I love it! No roof leaks, once you learn to put the top on correctly and replace the plastic rear top clips (2007 & early 2008 models). Paint is shiny and surprisingly durable. Engine power is just fine - a cold air kit was a nice addition, the stock box strangles the V-6! And the plastic interior is EASY to get mud off of!

The plastic does get marked up easily.
I do not have anything wrong with my paint.
I have not had any water leaks on the Freedom Top
I have had no warranty claims in sixteen months
And I too like the looks of the JK.

Default How Full Is Your Glass

Plenty of us have had an issue or a few with some things about the JK.

But damn, there are so many great things to recognize about it that you might focus in that direction instead. You'll be happier with your ultimate purchase if you keep those good things in sight (kind of like life).
