Default Rear Bumper

Does anyone know why they changed the rear bumper on the 2013 jk? I got hit and dented up the plastic part and they tell me I have to buy a whole bumper.

On my 12 it was 350 or so for a replacement rear bumper so I just ordered the ace pro series bumper with tire carrier

If you want to go back factory you can find a used one for around $100.

They haven't changed it as far as I know. It's always been one giant piece of plastic. The bumper I took off my 2013 looks and feels just like the 2008 one.

I hit a tree and damaged mine. it was 1 solid piece. I order a rear bumper from quadratec , had to pay out of pocket then reimbursed from my ins. co. worked out good for me I got a awesome bumper and when it was all said and done it cost me about $150

How do you like the ACE Pro bumper?

I have one being installed Monday!

One weird thing, I'm getting the ace medium width front bumper and I asked about holes to mount a license plate and the guy emailed me directions on how to drill holes and thread the holes...

I asked about them doing it and I'd pay extra and he told me that they really prefer to let the customers do it so if something goes wrong it wouldn't be their fault!

Kind of rubbed me the wrong way, I'm already a repeat customer, I already have their bolt on rock rails and they've worked wonderfully
