Rear Main Seal

Has any body replaced there rear main seal with a feel-pro seal on a 2007 Jeep JK with a manual transmission?

Make sure it actually needs the rear main replaced. The upper oil pan seal in the 3.8L is a common failure and it mimics a rear main seal leak. Much easier repair.

I used an OEM seal. But be aware that the OEM seal has been redesigned and the metal plate to secure it in place is not as beefy as the original one. Thus far hasn't caused me any problems (and I'm at 225K miles), but it was disappointing to see a more cheaply made part.

mark, i just noticed that the OEM part is redesigned. It looks just like the fel-pro. Im having a hard time getting it on. the plastic guide seal isn't working very well and every time i get it on it inverts the seal. Any suggestions? i
maybe i have a faulty part.

Sok66, the seal isn't leaking. i have a really bad oil leak from the top end, eith the timing chain cover or the intake manifold gaskets. so I'm just replacing it while i have it access to it. my throw out bearing went so I'm replacing it and the clutch with a center force stage2 . So far the job is going ok minus the rear main seal.

Im new to this thread and still unfamiliar with the site. Its not very user friendly. thanks for the help so far.
