Default recommendation for 'mud' flaps

hi all,

previous jk i had solid flaps for all four wheels. by solid i mean there was no flex in them so when driving through deep snow, it would act a little like a plow.

i'm looking for something that will flap in the wind, primary concern is for the front two tires kicking up solid debris onto doors.

something to easy self-install would be cool too!
thanks

How bout no mudflaps at all. Two reasons I can think of;
1. If you go offroading, mudflaps may get damaged or cause damage to your rig.
2. The jeep looks killer without the flaps, adding them takes away from that look (IMO).

If you really want them, look at the ones that are rubber with a metal sheet on the bottom 3rd. They look nice on the truck I have seen them on.

x2 i believe Wayoflife has these on his white jeep cause he kept getting pulled over by the cops. but it could be cheaper if you could make some yourself.

here is a write up that WOL did on the teraflex mud flaps

X2... I had mine on for a month before realized the error of my ways and sold them on the forum. They just make the jeep look lower, get some steps if you want to keep Crap off the doors

To the original poster..

I would think some universal flaps would be the way to go. The generic ones down at the local auto parts place.

One person mentioned steps -- I do have to say, my factory steps do block a lot of crud from hitting my doors. I ran with them off for a bit, some during the winter -- and it 'is' a big difference.

The downside -- I am either too tall, or they're too awkward to use as actual steps, so I hop over them to get in or out of the jeep. It's a little too easy for me to get my skirt.. I mean pants, dirty, if I'm not careful.

They are the same person. (The OP and the person who mentioned steps.)
