Remote Start Finding
I thought I had an issue with my remote start on my 2012. I would try to start it and the lights and horn would only flash and beep once and it would not start.
I remembered that just before pulling into my driveway the night before my fuel light came on. I wondered if the issue with my remote start was linked
to my fuel light. I went and filled up and tried the remote start again. It worked just like it should have. I guess its engineered into the computer that if the fuel is low to deactivate
the remote start. I would think for the jeep would sit out and fuel as its warming up. I just wanted to share this just in case anyone else might come across this issue.

X2. My 2010 won't remote start when low fuel light is on either. This is as described in the owner manual printed version. I ordered the paper manual as the original owner can but thin Jeep should make a full electronic version available online if they arent going to put a book in the glove box. The second owner doesn't get a chance to order the free manual if the original owner doesn't do it when new.

Here's what my 2010 full manual says. I'm guessing the low fuel light is treated as an engine warning light?
NOTE:
• The park lamps will turn on and remain on during Remote Start mode.
• For security, power window operation is disabled when the vehicle is in the Remote Start mode.
• The engine can be started two consecutive times (two 15-minute cycles) with the RKE transmitter. However, the ignition switch must be cycled to the ON position before you can repeat the start sequence for a third cycle.
Remote start will also cancel if any of the following occur:
• The engine stalls or RPM exceeds 2500
• Any engine warning lamps come on
• The hood is opened
• The hazard switch is pressed
• The transmission is moved out of PARK
• The brake pedal is pressed

Also, when we were throwing codes for our evap it didn't work either...so the remote start is sort of like a diagnostics tool!

My finding might be in error. I went to start the jeep this morning with the remote, the same thing happened, the horn honked once but didn't start. I have a full tank this time. Backed it out of the garage, shut it off, and tried the remote again. It started right up. So I'm back to scratching my head.
I know mine will do the same if I am low on fuel enough to trigger the light. I also know that if you freshly fill it up after a failed attempt to remotely start it WITHOUT driving for a mile it will also lockout.
With all the sensors and CanBUS system you would think the JK would see that it truly does have a full tank and isn't simply parked uphill
but would rather see a full tank AND distance to prove it
