Default Remove Tree Pin Stripes

Any success in removing pin striping caused by trail trees? I'd like to keep the new jeep cleaned up looking new and have to believe you guys know the tricks. I've been on the trails 2x already and have striped up the Jeep pretty badly. I never worried about this on my TJ but it really shows on new black paint.

Should I wait to wax until I get these out or will the wax not make a difference in getting them out later? I ask because I have a wash&wax Groupon I need to use today.

As far as pinstripes, brush whip, etc I have found that Meguiar's Scratch X 2.0 is the best thing to use. It will remove swirls, scratches, and other imperfections in your paint. Use it and then follow up with a good coat of Meguiar's cleaner/wax.

Thanks. Will this be okay on black paint? I get the feeling from other posts that black paint tends to show more and needs more delicate care than other paint colors. I've seen a clay bar mentioned but not sure if that is related to getting tree stripes off.

x2

I used Scratch X 2.0 and removed a bunch of tree branch scratches I got from the trails. Even the ones it didn't totally remove look WAY better now. Something like Meguiar's smaller electric buffer would help a lot, but I did it by hand.

I use Bugslide before i go out, and everything just washes off. No permanent scratches yet with this stuff!

I cannot remember the products name that a lot of folks recommend for the black paint, but they will all swear by it. I will see if I can find it

I've never heard of this stuff, seems pretty cool if it works.

It's amazing on bugs too! If you live in an area where you get a lot of bugs on your windshield, this stuff is for you! I buy it by the gallon. Worth every penny! Saved my paint in a recent windstorm with blowing sand!

You might try a clay bar (wet) first before you go to the trouble of polishing and waxing. It usually works for me. Unfortunately it hasn't worked for me on the hardtop. But after multiple armor-all sessions the stripes are almost invisible.
