I'm following along this video at the 4:15 mark...
https://youtu.be/WmG9R1f8kxo?t=4m15s And the guy just jiggles the shifter and it comes out no problem.

Here's my shifter...

I've already taken the hex bolt out, but the thing won't budge, at all.

Is there a trick to it? Is it ok to try and use PB Blaster or WD40 on it? This thing just does not want to come off.

It's been a while since I've pulled one, but the several I've done pulled just as shown. No trick to it. Some type of lube shouldn't hurt things, but I wonder if someone didn't damage the stub from the transmission (say by grabbing it with a set of Vice Grips), then use a hammer to drive the shift lever into place.

I think it was just rust. Put a bit of PB Blaster and let it sit for a few hours, then I was able to wiggle it off.

Thanks!

I just pulled mine, it was tight, a little bit of PB, tap it with a hammer
