I need to get a new replacement tie rod for my JKU.
I don't think I need the heavy duty 1 ton tie rods. I really don't want to drill out the spindle. They would probably last forever though.
I found a Moog brand and a Crown brand. The moog is $170 ans the crown is $100. I don't mind to spend the extra money if its worth it. The moog does have grease zerks and the crown does not. Which would be the better choice?
I bought a Moog in the past because of the "lifetime" warranty. You get only one replacement for as long as you own the item, even if the replacement bends just like the factory one did.
I went Ruff Stuff and it isn't "ruff" enough for me. I also managed to put a kink in it.
Do you have or are you considering to go with larger tires in the future?
If not then either of those will do. If you are, then you may want to consider the Ruff Stuff tie rod. It's a similar price as the ones you're looking at, but is a stronger 1 ton which will help provide a more solid steering experience if you go with larger tires. It's not bullet proof like Karl has experienced, but for a similar price as the stock size options, it is beefier than either of those options you're looking at and does not need drilling of the knuckles to install.
Also if you hate rust like I do....then the Ruff stuff also comes unpainted and you'll want to put a coat of good rattle can and some clear coat on it to protect the finish.
If you're into the bashing it on tree logs and/or rocks, then you'll want to look at the aluminum or chromoly options out there where the price goes up considerably. SteerSmarts Yeti HD are nice in this arena.

I already have a lift and 33’’ tires. I was wanting to do the ruff stuff but didn’t want to drill out the knuckle. I still may order it since I have a 20% off thing for it right now.
