Default Rock Sliders

Going to be purchasing some rock sliders on the near future and had pretty much decided to go with Smittybilts SRC Rocker Guards until I was looking through a new 4WD hardware catalog and saw Rampages Retractable Rock Sliders. Anyone have or have seen these? Seem like a good idea, retract them when off roading and leave them down when not so my kids can climb in. What would be your choice?

Do you plan on taking your rig off road? If so, I would steer clear of a rock slider that moves. Sounds like trouble to me.

I have the rampage ones that move. Super easy install and they operate smoothly. Strong and no issue offroad. They feel like they could take some hard hits. They look good too.

I also wouldn't buy anything smittybilt. It's low quality mall crawler stuff from what I've seen. I ordered their fenders and they were garbage. Poorly made and damaged my jeep pretty bad just from installing.

I built my own sliders. You want something that support the weight of your jeep.Looking at those retracts, how strong is that hinge?

It is a DD, but am planning on hitting the ORP as often as possible. I will not be going too extreme with offroading due to the fact that if anything major goes wrong I wont be able to get to work

I'm the same way with my jeep. Work and school. More of a every other weekend/ once a month type thing. And the hinges on the sliders are solid.

I have their bumpers, they have held up very well, but I wont touch their rock sliders.

I have some LOD sliders on order, if you use your rock sliders frame mounted is the way to go.
