Default Rubi-electric disconnect problem

Last Saturday I was off-road and as I've done a 100 times (at least) I hit the Swaybar disco button and it disconnected as always. Only when I tried to reconnect it the light just continued to blink. I rocked the Jeep and it definately was re-engaged but the light would not turn off. So today, I inplugged it and then re-plugged it back in and the light stays off. Then, hit the button, and you can hear it disconnect and then hit the button again and no sound but when I rock the Jeep it has reengaged, but the light just blinks. Any one have any ideas? (I am out of warranty)

I have an 09 Rubi and mine acts "weird" too, I try to turn it off it blinks try to turn it on it doesn't. Sometimes, it works as expected. I'm a noob so maybe I'm doing it wrong. To be honest, I wouldn't be able to say if it is "actually" working. When I'm back on pavement I turn it off and "eventually" it stops blinking.

The only thing I trust while off-roading is my 4LO and locked gears. I know 100% that they are working as expected

I agree, the sad part is people pay a lot to get a rubicon and this is a selling point. I would rather get my hands dirty than have a bell and whistle that is not reliable. JMO

Actually the selling point for me was the front and rear D44 axles and the 4:1 low t-case. The swaybar elec disconnect was a perk.

Sometimes it will take a minute for the computer to "know" that the swaybar is reconnected. It will normally turn off once you drive it on flat level ground. I think it is a safety deal.

I have heard a lot of people have problems with them. If I had a rubicon I would want all the extra performace items to work.....it just bums me out for those who have rubicons.

I hear ya, I want it all to work also. I was just saying that it might not be broken but just a safety precaution so that the computer is verifying that the swaybar is reconnected. I know that mine does not automatically turn the light off but it reconnects.

First day out of the dealership that stupid light was blinking. Turned out to be a bad harness that was vulnerable to damage. Had a new one put in and put some dielectri grease on it and have not had a problem since

It's a 70 LS-5 454 all #'s matching, cowl induction, 4-sp. fact.AC car, Black w/white stripes. Yeah, I'm thinking of scrapping the Elect. Disco and go with something else too.

The reason that light is blinking is mechanically the sway bar needs to line back up before it lock back in. Just rock side to side in your jeep and it will stop blinking as soon as it is locked in, it should only take a second.

Regardless, having the capability to disconnect and reconnect the sway-bar inside the cab is enormous. Definitely a major feature of the rubicon, and I don't think there is a way to avoid the mechanical connection quirks.
