Default Rubi shudders on take off

Strange question but I've noticed over the past 2 days when I slowly accelerate from a stop, she tends to "shuddder" for lack of a better word. Kind of like when in 4wd and the jeep shakes a little while getting going. It also does it in reverse, but doesn't do it when I accelerate a little faster. Not sure what this could be, tires are around 35psi, and everything is stock.

Also my gf was driving it yesterday and stopped at a traffic light, light turned green and she pressed the clutch and tried to put it in first, but she says it wouldn't go into ANY gear at all. She missed the whole traffic light before she was able to get it in gear...and she knows how to drive standard....think these issues are related?

I have an appointment at my dealer later in the week to have a look, but an curious what it could be!

the fact that you stated if you accelerate faster (ie: more rpms before you start to let out the clutch) alleviates this problem would tend to make me beleive you are bogging down the engine at start-up. If this is something that just started happening recently then that would make me think that something has just recently added considerable resistance to allowing your JK to start moving like a sticking brake caliper or some kind of driveline bindage. Not sure if the difficulty in getting into first means it might be a trans/clutch issue.

I don't believe its the engine "bogging down" for lack of power....I've drivven standards for 13 years and have never felt something like this. Also it is considerably more defined when backing up....shes at the dealership as we speak...hope to hear back from them soon.

Could it simply be the mud terrain tires?

I experience something similar, a rumbling that quickly disappears with speed . BTW, I have an auto trans. It occurs only on the rubi's( with mud terrains) , not on any other stock wrangler that I've tried.

The JK throttle is hard to get used to and is stiff at first. I would guess it's just not driving the vehicle correctly. I drove a TJ before my JK and it still takes thought to drive it smoothly.

Well I just got off the phone with the service manager. He was very curious as to if I take it off road or not. He finally told me that they pulled the cover off the clutch to have a look at it, and broken pieces of the clutch fell out!

Seems strange that a vehicle with only 4200 kilometeres would have a clutch that literally "falls apart"

He says after further investigation they will cover the repair (but says he doesn't have to since its been offroad)
Parts should be here in 3-5 days, and in the meantime they are refusing to give me a loaner vehicle!!

I'm going to call tomorrow and speak to the manager of the dealership...seems like a bunch of B.S. to me.

Just remember that the clutch is often not included in the warranty, so I would consider them offering to cover the repair a positive. Although you may feel it is annoying, try to take this opportunity to build a positive relationship with the dealer and you may have an easier time getting warranty work covered in the future. (say when you break the lockers)
