Rubicon stock shock question.

Ok , hope this isn't a really stupid question. Are the rubicon shocks the same for a 2 dr and a 4 dr? I want to get some rubicon oem shocks for my 2 dr. I see a lot of unlimited jeeps selling their shocks but not sure if they would work on my 2 dr. Thanks in advance for the help.

Yes, you're fine to run those shocks. I've been on many different sets (2dr, 4dr, Sahara, Rubicon, sport, etc) and they all ride fine, no matter from where they came.

Thanks for getting back to me so fast. Appreciate it. Assume front sway bars are all the same also? I do have the electronic sway bar discos.

The bars are different but the links are the same if you think your current links are worn out or you are otherwise looking for a pair of links.

Shocks

I am running Ruby shocks on my Sahara. Work like a charm

The shocks are the same from 2 and 4 door models, Rubi shocks are red. A word of caution, my stock Rubi shocks were completely shot before I hit 30,000 miles, so be sure to check any that you are buying before you pay for them to make sure they are still good.

What I am doing is taking my budget boost with shocks off and go back to stock. Jeep is going to my wife and she wants stock height. Base on info here I think I will buy new stock shocks. I need to get front sway bars so I can move the front ones back to the rear as it was before the lift. Any concerns on what I'm going for?

Thanks everyone.

No issues with what you're doing and it sounds like you're doing it the right way. The sway bar links shouldn't cost more than $20/pair. If they do then tell the seller not to worry about it and you can get a set on eBay.

Thanks, appreciate the info.

i bought my 2012 sport the same time a coworker bought the 2012 rubi. My jeep now has 85,000 miles on it and the shock look and perform fine. My friends rubi shock actually had rusting rot all the way through them after only a few years and less than 30,000 miles. So, maybe the rubis shocks perform better, but they certainly haven't held up as well as my sport shocks.
