Default Rust on windshield mounts

My jeep is not that old and pretty well taken care of but rust is starting to form on the screws that hold my windshield brackets. How do u prevent this from getting worse??

I took mine off when new and resprayed them with rustoleum, oven dried them and then lubed them up with grease (also the pushed grease into the bolt holes and repainted the back side of the covers). Doing so has kept the rust away, so i'd suggest removing them, sanding them lightly to remove surface rust and following the same process.

Hi, not trying to Jack the thread, buttttttt.

Whats the trick to getting the whole windshield holder/arm to come off?

I feel stupid asking this. I change my own brakes, fluid, etc., but cannot get the arm off and do not want to break it.

Thanks and now back to our regular programming.
