Well its been over a month since the doors and top have been on the Jeep. But they had to go back on yesterday. Its going to rain and I am doing a 12 hr shift at work. Driving in last night I got claustraphobic with the top on. Before I put the doors back on I did clean out the hinges with a round wire brush and coat the door pins in Lithium grease. They will be coming back off on Wed. It looked like there was a plastic sleeve inside the hinge.

The doors will come off much easier if you do. The last time I took them off I had to knock the pins up with a hammer and punch to get them started. It took a lot of effort to get the doors off. They had not been off in about a year.

I always clean them up and put white lithium grease on.. this way esp when the doors go back on for winter I dont have any issues getting them to come off in the spring...

seems to be a common issue where the doors will stick and not want to come off if you dont..

ive been asked by several people with JK's (including service guys at the dealer) if I ever have trouble getting the front doors off (esp the passenger side)...

its so easy to grease the pins i just do it each time my metal doors go back on

I just drive my pickup when it rains.

never have to put the top up, never have to put the doors back on.

well, if it's going to rain all week, then I do, but it's been fairly dry this summer.

My top and doors have been of since May 15th. I have about a 20 min commute, most of it on the interstate. If I see it's going to rain, I just try to time the drive in between showers. I have a rain jacket and a few beach towels in a tufftote in the back just in case. I dont plan on putting the top back on until the morning temps get back down in the 50's.
