Default Is this safe?????? top on and doors off?

I'm thinking about/going to take the doors off for a while. Where I work is loaded with oak tree's and I'm trying to keep the big branchs and other things the squirels and grackels throw into the jeep out of it. So I'm thinking about taking the doors and windows off but leaving the top on. Of course I'll leave the door supports inplace to hold the top nice and snug, but has anyone heard of doing this destroying the top? I'll be buying a bikini top for the jeep later in the summer but for now...... I saw a guy the other day in a 4dr that had rolled the back two roof supports up and had a rope or something tied to the holes in the tube. Anyone have any input about this? thanks.

Your fine with just the soft top on, only problems i've heard were doors off, windows out and having the top in the SUNRIDER position ... the back flaps came loose and flapped in the breeze. With the top all the way up like your going to have it everything will be tight and stay in place.

I've done it, but not at highway speeds. I would suspect that the high relative wind speed would cause the "back flaps" to live up to their name.

what about rolling 'um up and tying a rope or similar to the body to prevent this from happening?

I tried taking the door surrounds off and having the top up. I thought it would clatter like hell, but it didn't even make a fluttering noise. As long as I stayed at or below 70 mph, the back flaps stayed in place. Somewhere around 80, they both popped out, but still no extra flapping noise around the doors. Without the door surrounds you can't do the sun roof option, but it makes it so much quicker to pop the top all the way up or all the way down.
