Screwed up oil dip stick
IMHO I might be worried about running with a dipstick that exaggerates level. The problem isn't so much being a little high (as long as you aren't into the crank which is a serious problem in itself) but relying on the dipstick to tell you you are still good while at the low end of the safe operating range when in fact you may be low enough to cause pick-up problems at angles on the trail - just when you can't afford to munch an engine for lack of lubrication. So running low and not keeping a very close eye on the level (I don't recommend using the entire safe range) is probably not the best method with these dip-sticks
