Shift boot orientation?
Stupid question, stock '08 JK manual. Shift boot was in rough shape so I ordered a new one off Amazon. The new one came in "reversed" - you know how the hole is offset within the oval? The new boot (which is molded together with the fake screws) was set up opposite of the old boot, which admittedly was held together with screws and tape. But, I'm now occasionally having the shifter pop out of first. I am wondering if I need to flip around the boot or if it's just a "new cold rubber" issue. Can someone tell me please, is the hole supposed to be offset to the front of the vehicle, or towards the rear? It actually works either way so it's not obvious.
