Default Shock Boots Removed

So I have heard that you shouldn't run any boots and have heard it helps to keep dirt off.

Well, I decided to look under the Jeep and see what is what.

No, before we get to that, you should know I use my Jeep.... A lot of water and mud on the trails here in Florida. Deep!!

So I got under and grabbed the boot on one of the rear shocks.... It was hard?????????????? Solid if you will.

Took out my trust knife and sliced it open. It was full of soft and hard mud. Yep, removed both of the rears as they were both full.

So what does the front look like?

They weren't hard but something didn't feel right so off it came.

It had water standing in the bottom of the boot, yea not much but still...... Took them both off.

I don't remember ever having a problem before this.

Live and learn.

Boots are good for dry areas and for road use to keep debris off the shafts but if you are going to be running in water and mud you are better off without.

I've also heard of running boots but cut the zip tie holding the bottom of the boot on to allow for drainage. I'd just go without.
