I have a 17 sport unlimted with 48000 miles on it. I recently changed the oil with 5W-20 and used a Wix oil filter. Ever since, the acceleration has been sluggish. Can anybody help?

 

You performed this service yourself? Did you happen to do anything with the air filter and possibly leave some vacuum line disconnected? Asking as typically when doing an oil change people are fiddling with other regular maintenance items like air filters too. Did you possibly overfill with new oil (I presume you checked the dipstick)?

 

Everything is connected, oil level is good. Running 31 PSI oil pressure when warm.

 

Overfilling would be the most common culprit, but you report level is good. Can't imagine the Wix filter making any difference, specially since that is a high quality filter. curious to see if someone else chimes in with a thought.

 

Should also add it is intermittent and accelerates fine in the higher gears l.

 

The Wix filters haven't been an issue for my friend with two 2015's or my 2016. Maybe try the ole "disconnect the battery overnight" trick and let the computer relearn how you drive??

 

I'll have to wait until the weekend to do that.

 

If your positive it happened right after the oil change I would drop the oil and re-do the job and filter. Something happened during it and to do it over would only be $40 out of pocket. Cheap insurance in my book. I have an 08 but only use the mopar filter. It's OEM and cheap enough at $6.
