Just installed my Cobra 75 CB and utilized Cool Tech's Ultramount. After the install was complete, I looked at that shiny quick-disconnect sticking out of the license plate frame and thought how it's going to collect dirt, get weathered eventually and possibly cause the reception to lessen when I do put the antenna on. Since I will not be doing a lot of off-roading, I thought there must be some way to help protect it over time. Then, when I tuned the Firefly antenna, I set the cap down, also on the license plate frame. Bam, the light went on in my mind. Tried it and it fit perfectly.

I know it's not much of a mod, but I like the idea. Now, I just need to obtain an extra cap so I don't have to leave the antenna unprotected.

 

Try some vaccum caps available at autoparts stores. One of the larger sizes will probably fit.
