smittybilt door surrounds
Just picked up a top on craigslist and the drivers front door surround drip rail is broken. It is off of an 08, so the only options that I see are either buy factory ($118 dealer or $90 online for the single part) or the smittybilt complete set for $99.
Has anybody tried these door surrounds yet? The bestop ones for the JKU are only for the cable type top, so they are not even an option.
I was also considering repairing the one drip rail by grinding it down and repairing with either epoxy or fiberglass, but I have not read any success stories about people fixing them once they crack/break. not only that but it is the drip rail and it gets a good amount of pressure when installing/removing the top.

Don't buy anything smittybilt. It's cheap mallcrawler stuff. I bought some xrc flat steel fenders and returned them. Cheap metal with cheap finish, spot welded poorly. And damaged out of box. All of it is useless. It's just for show. I would recommend rugged ridge or metal cloak if you're a serious wheeler.
