Thanks deltaneo1 but the shipping would probably discount any benefit.
Yeah I should get a good deal for snow chains in July!
Just trying to think of everything I'm gonna need for this trip and allocate the money....

Shipping really isn't that much from APO AE to the states. I would go USPS priority. Snow chains really are not needed I went to Austria in DEC and did fine with out chains. But it is always good idea to have them. Rather have then when you don't need them then not have them when you need them.

Living in Southern California and making lot of trips to Big Bear and up to Tahoe in the winter to snowboard, we are required to carry chains. Most of the time if you have 4WD and m+s rated tires you will not be required to put them on, but when it's snowing good, CHP will require all vehicles to have chains on. I used SCC's Super Z6. Got them for $78 online with free shipping. I have a stock 2008 X with the 255/75-17 and had no issues despite what the owners manual says. The Z6's were made for vehicles with little clearance around the wheels.
I have been wondering about this too. Any idea why the manual says that Rubi's shouldn't use them? I don't want to start breaking sh&t on my rig simply because we are required to have them in CA. Mine is all stock now, but by next winter I'm going to be on 37s. Any clue if they make chains that big? I feel like I wouldn't need them, but 'legally' I do.
