So what i under stand is it's a pretty simple process. Take the soft top off, remove all the mounting hardwar and put the hard top on? Im not worried about the wiring for the rear window yet but some people say that if i have a 2007 do i need to get a 2007 top? HELP ME!

All the tops fits each year model, the only difference is the 2011-12 models was slightly modified with a bigger rear window and the freedom panels mount and secure differently. Old models they clamp to each other in the middle, newer ones they clamp to the middle windshield loop.

As far as putting one on for the first time, all you need is the retaining clips that are seated in the bed lip, the six bolts for the retainers and the two that screw through the sound bar into the freedom panels, and some help lifting the top.

This is true, but only 07-08 freedom panels latch to them self, 09+ latch to the center loop, but you can in bolt the 07-08 loop and mover it over so the later tops will fit. And the the 11-13 back half of the tops have an extra set of aligment pins at the rear, and supposedly a different washer fluid connection. To make these one fit, you just need to remove the rear aligment pins or drill your body to make it fit.

You can mix and match parts to make a top as well, just make sure that you get matching freedom panels ( from same year). The only thing is if you get the earlier freedom panels you will get all the issues with them no matter what year your jeep is/ back half of the top is.

When I put my top toghter my washer fluid connection was correct ( I think) and all I had to do was remove the rear pins. So I am running an 09 with a set of 07-08 freedom panels and a 11 back half. It all fits and bolts together. Cause I am using 07-08 panels I have the 07-08 leaks. Buy the newest top you can find or afford as they keep making small changes to how it seals.

I would personally try to stick to pre-2011 hard tops. The new ones attach in the middle to the footman loop. At some point, I think 2011, they moved the footman loop a few inches. That would most likely prevent you from being able to secure the middle handle.

On the newer ones as Rooster stated, has the footman loop moved over a couple inches.

That's not a problem as there are some rightups on here and a couple venders that sell cheap fixes to moving it or a bracket over.

To let everyone know I picked up the 2010 top and put it on my 07' everything lines up and is fictional except for the center latch on the drivers freedom panel. But that's and easy fix. I just moved the loop over 3 inches!
