Default Soft top help!!!

Hi everyone, I am currently attempting to install a mopar soft top on my 2010 jeep wrangler 4 door. I purchased it from a friend That also had the same.

My problem is the driver side door trim that the soft top attaches to. It looms to be incorrect. The part number is 55397075AG

It looks nothing like the passenger side one. Is this the correct part for my jeep?

It's hard to tell from your pictures, but are the 2 trim pieces identical or mirror image (ie right and left sides)? How does it "not fit"? I know mine took some "persuading" the first couple times.

the drivers side door surround piece appears to be for a 2010+ soft top that uses a cable system, the passengers side door looks to be for the 2007-2009 which used a channel system to hold the soft top to the door frame. the channel pieces in the soft top canvas get locked/tucked into the overhang channel on the door surround, with 2010+ (passenger side surround), the top just sits snug against the top, no need to tuck it in as it holds tight with the new cable system.

what year is the soft top off of? did your friend piece it together or was it one that he had on his jeep to begin with from factory

Think you for your help, from your pictures it seems my pieces were mixed and matched from the dealer. My friends vehicle was a demo unit when he bought it, came with dual tops, but the additional boxes that typically come with it were missing so the salesman re ordered everything new, that must have been where the screw up was. typical sales man lol

Glad you got it figured out. Remember, if it's a sunrider and you're riding with the top only open over the front seats, remove your back window if you're traveling more than 80km/hr otherwise you'll blow the windows out and most likely wreck the seams or the zippers.

I didn't even think of doing that, thank you for the warning. I still have to wait for the weather to get better before I put this on it's still quite chilly in Edmonton AB
