Default Soft top question

Ok I have an 07 Sahara and am looking at a used soft top from a 09-10(seller not sure but thinks 09) the top he has has a spring and a cable running trough the front of the top. My 07 does not will this work or would I need new door surrounds. Only wants 175 and I think he might have the new door surrounds also. Just wondering if it would fit. Also has foam in different places then mine which look like they would stop the leak I have on pass side in heavy rain(big down pour. My windows are pretty rough and my top is starting to show where so just wanted to replace and this seems like a good deal any info would be helpful

Thanks

I know the footman loop on the windshield moved at some point but not sure what year. You may or may not have to notch the header to get it to sit flat at the windshield.

Only the center one, and it applies more to the hardtop panels. Any year model soft tops should clear it just fine.

For the spring/cable tops, you'll need the matching door surrounds (11-15 I think). For the clip in style, you'll need the clip in door surrounds (07-10) -- I'm running this kind on my 2013 cause I got it wicked cheap off Craigslist.

From what I've read, the footman loop holds the soft top header up enough to allow wind howling. Guys have either removed the footman loop or dremeled the header. I've seen it in several threads on different forums. I don't want to link another forum here but a search will provide the pictures of what they've done.

Well you want to get everything that comes with the top. That includes door surrounds and hardware if applicable, roll bar brackets and bolts, tailgate bar, and tail gate bar brackets, and windows. Can't think of anything else offhand.

Yeah I have evrything already but thought I read I would need door surrounds which he doesn't have so by the time I buy the top for 175 plus door surrounds I could get a frameless like the best top trek top nx or rampage frameless which is what I am leaning towards anyways just thought it was a good deal if it would work. Anyone have any exprience with the rampage frameless top? Or possibly the pavement ends factory replace top looks decent

If it has cables then it's at least from a 2010. 07-09 were the original non cable tops
