Default Soft Top removal

My 2010 JK Unlimited came with both tops. I can't see that I will ever remove the hard top to use the soft one. Can the soft top be removed without taking the hard top off? It looks like it is held on with 2 screws/bolts on each side, but can it be manuvered to take it out the back? Also, what is it worth? It's never been up.

Thanks

It has both of them on? I've never seen that before so I can't really answer your question.

hahaha, no... and if you ever take the hard top off and put the soft top up, good luck every getting both to fit in there again...

on of my soldiers' wife still has it installed inside with the hardtop since it was new, i was like WHAT!!!! not having that extra space would kill me and the pain in the arse it would be to put big stuff back there...

just take off the top and pull the soft top out and sell it if you dont want it nor will ever use it, i usually use soft top in the summer and hardtop in the winter but thats just me..

You'll need to take the hard top off to get the soft-top out. I tried the same thing when I picked mine up (wayback when ) Too tight to manouver out.

Quadratec listing new Sun-Rider Top @ $1500.00

Hope that helps.

Cheers.

+1 The Dual Top Option comes this way from the factory. Only way to get the softie off is to pull the hard top off first. It's not as hard as it sounds - just don't try to do it by yourself (and make sure the 2nd person isn't your 100lb girlfriend)

Consider using the soft top for the summer! I put my hartop into storage and the reduced weight is as good as an extra 10hp or more.

I also got dual tops with my jeep. I was thinking I would be 100% hardtop and wouldn't use softtop. I decided to keep my soft just on the off chance I wanted it.

Well...flash forward to this summer. I have soft top on and I LOVE IT!!!

Try soft top first before you decide to sell it. I love the Hard top for winter and soft top for summer. It really makes the jeep worth it. Since you have it...go for it.

Install a hoist in your garage to store your hard top.

Default already asked the same question

I read some of the forums that folks stated that they pulled the soft top out without lifting the hardtop. On a 2010, I do not think it's possible. I lifted the hardtop myself and had my girlfriend carefully pull out the soft top but not before she chipped the hardtop.

There was folks that stated you can cause damage to the softtop by leaving it under the hardtop - states it in the owners manual also.

I wonder if you could not get the dealership to do it for you? I agree with others though...I used my soft top in the summer and hard top in the winter. I store the hard top in the garage...hung from the ceiling.

How much louder is the soft top on the road? I've debated about keeping it, but after running the interstate with the front tops removed, my wife wouldn't care for all of the wind. Although, I think it would be good for short runs. Also, I've got a set of Hothead headliners coming to reduce the heat rediating down from the hardtop. How much heat gets through the soft top?

Thanks
