Used paraffin or candle wax for years on my YJ. Works great! Recently went hi-tech and ordered the Mopar Zipper Lube. Jury still out.

OK.. This isn't quite the same issue.. but I just realized whoever was playing with my back window zipped it up crooked. Its almost 2 inches off and now I can't get it apart. Is there an easy way to get it apart. I tried using needle nose plyers but it was driving me nuts. If I don't find a solution soon i'm just gonna take a knife to it and I really don't wanna do that.

Keep the switchblade in check, at least for now.

If you rock the zipper back and forth (side-to-side) and put a fair amount of pressure unzipping, you should be able to work the zipper down one link at a time. Try some lube (candle wax, bees wax, ear wax, whatever), it might make it a bit easier. If you find the "sweet spot", usually the zipper will unclick pretty quick. If you need to go a long distance with the zipper you'll need one more thing - patience.

Good luck!

The same thing happened to me. The zipper came apart at the bottom and then the sides were like 2 inches off and out of synch (about 2 inches up too). I was in panic mode for about 20 minutes trying to fix.

Honestly I kept working it. I kept pulling up on the fabric next to the zipper on the window itself while simultaneously pulling down on the slide.

Moving the slide up a bit and down a bit trying to get the teeth to synch.

I don't know how but suddenly BAAM!!! it corrected. I feared I would have to cut it out too.

I guess the bottom line here is keep working...apply lots of GRRR!! Sacrifice a Chicken...throw the bones... it hopefully will work out.

Shy of that see if you can find some sort of canvas repair guys.

Good luck!!
