Default Springs on the stock soft top?

I have a 2010 2dr and after selling my hard top and putting on my soft top (had dual package) on I noticed that there was a spring on a tention line that was bent along with the bars it was connected too. After bringing it to the dealer, they order parts (instead of replacing the kit) and 2 weeks later got me a rental so they could work on it. Got it back after hours the next day with no service sheet and saw they had just bent the spring back and try to bent the bar (tool marks). They said none of the parts were right and ordered from my VIN, so they don't understand. Now the top is hard to put up with just one person and one side comes down on the painted rail and scratched the hell out of it. I went back yesterday and a few managers are looking at it saying "I have never even seen springs on the stock tops, wonder if this is aftermarket?" Blah blah, stare stare...I got short and said "I purchased a brand new vehicle and it is not working and bent to hell, FIX IT!!" Guy took some pics and was going to email them to some contact with the top company. I assume BestTops make these for Chrysler?

Long story short, do the 2010 2door have springs and lines over the front section? I'm so sick of them trying to get parts and think they should replace the bent to sh*t top!!

The spring top is the new design for 2010, so maybe they haven't played with one yet. You'd think that being the managers of a Jeep dealer, they would have heard of the new design...

OK, great. Thanks for the info. It's funny how they wantd to act like they knew everything. "I have been working with Jeep tops for 15 years buddy" they guy tells me. Blow your ego out your a**. I have owned three Jeeps and know they all have been very different with changes. I am glad I know now.

Thanks again.

I've got a 2010 Unlimited and they changed the top design. The drip rail over the doors now has the cable/spring that you mention in your post. It makes it very easy and quick to put the top up and one person can do it. (when its not bent of course!)

They should replace your soft top with a new one and fix the scratches for you!
