Been chasing this squeek in circles for the last month to no avail. All new rotors and pads and liberal amounts of anti squeal with no solution to the issue. Every morning I arrive to work with smoke coming out of my ears its so annoying. Strange thing is, all the wheels just kind of fall off once all the lug nuts are removed (assuming no corrosion is holding it on). My passenger rear however, does not. It has to be worked off by pulling and pushing either side of the tire. Now after reading through this thread and the bent axle issues it has my wheels turning. Thing is, I have never done anything with my Jeep that would cause a bent axle. At any rate, this has been quite the frustrating process

IT'S NOT THE PADS.

There are 2 steal guides on both ends where the brake pad is held in place as it slides in and out. These guides are made from crappy steel that squeak as either end of the pad slides across it. Remove the rotor and apply a dab of grease on these small slides and work the pad back and forth. The problem will be solved.

Just had the same squeak issue, you described it perfectly. Light *squeak - squeak - squeak - squeak - squeak* when brakes were applied lightly. On the advice of a friend, I jacked it up and removed the rear right wheel (where sound was coming from) and could see the flange wobbling. It was clear as day. Took it into the dealership and they found that actually both rear axles were bent, and replaced them on warranty (100$ deductible for me).

Next, I put 37s on a couple days later (I knew the risk). One weekend of crawling and the familiar squeak is back. I'm sad because the wheels and tires have voided my warranty (it was going to be up soon anyway). I'm looking at upgrading the whole axle because if a single weekend of light crawling on 37s will do this to the D44 shafts, then I'm never going to be able to rest assured.

If light offloading is factual, it's highly doubtful it's your axles. Everybody in the world runs 37's with Dana 44's like I do as well. No problems unless extreme hard core abuse. Something else has to be wrong. If it's just a squeak, then carefully read my post just above yours.

I will call bs all day^^^^. Stock shafts suck. My definition of light wheeling and yours may be extremely different though. I personally saw dog bend his on 33s and it was light wheeling imo. Chromoly may help most, but i personally wouldn't waste my money. But again everyone's version of offroad is different.
