Default Standing water on soft top?

Went out on the balcony this morning and saw this:

Sorry for the poor pic quality, they were taken from a friends 10th floor appt. balcony.
So, I'm not real happy about this. It rained pretty hard last night, looks like it rained mud, but it still shouldn't keep water like that. long term, it could really do some damage to my top.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem? and is there a way to tighten the top so this doesnt happen?

Thx, Tony

I have not had the pleasure of having water collect on my soft top. and it has been raining buckets the past few weeks.
Are you sure you got the sides on correctly?

Its chilly this morning, about 50F or so.

And, yes, I'm pretty sure the sides, and the whole top for that matter, is installed correctly, but I'll double check it today.

Thx,
Tony

I don't see what the issue is, it is, afterall, a "soft" top...but if it is absolutely disconcerting to you, may I suggest a Skidrow device that props your top so you'll never again be horrified by such visual disturbances.

I have a similar problem...when it snows, the snow just sits there on the top!

Stuff a pillow under you rollbar when it rains if your that worried. Or you can park on the curbs with your jeep on a lean so the water runs towards the passenger side. This must be your first jeep?

Sound like all of you are trying to make light of my horrible situation...

I'm not leaving my Jeep outside for long periods of time, just noticed this today and it struck be as odd. It also reminded me of my ol' 90' YJ that was parked outside often, with a soft top, and it developed a "bow" in the material. Hitting 70 mph in the YJ after that sounded like you were reentering earth's atmosphere .....needless to say, it was some loud flapping.
I just don't want the same thing happening to my 08'....

Mine does this to, but I think its great. Mine collects on the passenger side and since I don't have power locks you can't get in on that side until I unlock. WELL, when I start the jeep I turn the fans to high and the top inflates pouring water on them priceless!

Put 2in coil spacers on the driver side only. Water will run off nicely But really, every jeep I've owned has done this with every softop, bikini and fastback. IT'S A JEEP THING! Softops that sit in the sun any time at all will do this period! It gets worse over time. The softops on jeeps cover alot more area than "other" convertable vehicles and in a different structure. Other convertable vehicles(mustangs and such) tend to be more aerodynamic to begin with and tend to do this less. A softop, even if taken care of, but is on daily will only last afew years , maybe 5 , but by then your windows are trashed, zippers too. Keep your zippers lubed and top 303'd and it should last a while ,but it's gonna stretch and expand and eventually you'll replace. Just be glad if it doesn't leak. I'm not trying to make light, but realize like your YJ you bought a jeep, bump the water off and have fun
