Same here. I'm sure it weighs more than 50 pounds though

I have a 35 inch Micky Thompson Baja MTZ on a Procomp wheel , approximately 100lbs, on it and no problems so far. And as far as the 50lb weight limit, I weighed the stock one that was on it and it was 70lbs so that doesn't make sense.

I have 35s and there use to be a 1 and 1/2 inch between bumper and tire, now the tire sits on the bumper and squeaks.

From the 2007 Wrangler Owner's manual, page 353:

" If you have added aftermarket accessories to the spare tire mounted carrier, it cannot exceed a gross weight of 50 lbs (23 kg) including the weight of the spare tire."

As stated above, this does not make sense, as the stock spare weighs more than that.

you wont have problems right away, but over time you will. i had a TJ with 33's on steel wheels on the tailgate that worked fine for a while but it eventually bent the tail gate.
