Strange recurring problem
I've had a problem come up now about 5 or 6 times now but each time they have resolved themselves before I could do anything about them.
Sometimes when I start up my 07X, it cranks just about a half a second longer than it usually does then it starts at a high idle about 1500RPM. My electronic throttle warning light and my check engine light both come on. If I shut down and restart, the throttle warning light goes out. The engine rpm stay at about 8-900 (cold weather normal) but the check engine light stays on. After a driving a few miles and with a few start ups the check engine light goes out and everything seems normal. I have never been able to get a code from the computor.
Has this sort of thing happened to anybody else? Any ideas?
My Jeep is out of warranty and I don't want to take it to the dealer to have them play guessing games at $85.00 an hour.

sorry, but i have no idea what it could be. i am however quite curious of what the throttle warning light looks like. i don't think i've ever seen this. then again, i might just be having a brain fart
You may have a fuel regulator leak. Common cause of a hard start. The bladder gets a leak and the vaccume is lost. Pull the hose of the regulator, and look for moisture/fuel resiude.
There was a TSB for the crank sensor, the the engine would crank a little longer than normal. But maybe thats a good thing, it will get the oil pressure up a little before starting.
