Default stuck in gear?

ok I'm not exactly a pro with a standard but have owned them in the past.

The other day I went out to my jk and hoped in. Pushed clutch and brake in and started the vehicle. The vehicle was parked in first. I was unable to physically get it out of gear to back up. I let go of the brake and it appeared to slightly pull forward as if it was moving with clutch pushed in. I was on flat ground.

I turned the vehicle off and then took it out of gear. Restarted the vehicle and REALLY struggled to get it into reverse. Happened twice in one day. Hasn't happened in past couple days. Any ideas?

Sounds like it was cold, but I'm guessing in Gallup it was not that cold. If it does it again, have the dealer check it out, there may be metal shaving in there messing things up. Sometimes with a new vehicle that can happen. Also, just a good rule of thumb, change you transmission fluid within the first year to get any shavings out, over time thay can mess stuff up.

Thats not good. The trans being cold, would make it feel stickey, and a little harder to shift untill the fluid warms up. But it shouldnt have any impact on getting stuck in gear. I would say its something to do with the master slave cylinder.

I'm thinking maybe its because I sometimes turn the key before pushing clutch in. Imma play with it tonight as it did it again when I left work.

Sounds like the clutch was dragging a little.

How many miles are on her? Sounds like a clutch issue to me... Have you checked all of your fluids yet?

(Not to steal, but this reminds me of the idiot move I made a few weeks ago... I put the 4wd lever into Neutral while taking my dash apart. The next morning I couldn't figure out why I wasn't moving anywhere... )

Kinda sounds like something is stuck in the linkage.

Had a stick stuck in the linkage of my truck after a day on a logging road.

Drove me crazy for about an hour, so I crawled under.

Shes brand new not even 2000 miles yet.

This last time it happened, I needed to reverse and it came out of first pretty rough and wasn't able to get it into reverse. Had to turn it off then back on. Then tried again it, went it but very rough. Grind as it went in. then had troubles getting it back into first.

Perhaps i should take it in?

Def a master cylinder or a slave cylinder. I am doing mine as we speak. Mine is so bad as soon as I turn the key its driving away. Maybe check your fluid in the master cylinder. Its located right next to the brake booster. A good rule of thumb: If the clutch will disengage but will not engage properly, (slipping) then the clutch disc is worn out. If the clutch pedal will not disengage the clutch, then the master or slave cylinders are bad.
